September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, and it’s the perfect reminder that one little card unlocks a world of possibilities for families. Whether your kids are bookworms, curious learners, or just love a fun storytime, your local library is one of the best resources in our community — and it’s completely FREE!
From free programs and storytimes to tutoring, STEM clubs, cooking classes, and digital downloads, today’s libraries are about so much more than books. A library card is one of the most valuable tools you can give your child — it encourages lifelong learning, sparks imagination, and helps them succeed in school and beyond.
Here in our community, we’re lucky to have some amazing library systems and city libraries to serve families:
- Altamonte Springs City Library – A cozy, family-friendly library right in the heart of Altamonte Springs.
- Maitland Public Library – A local gem with community events, reading programs, and resources for the whole family.
- Orange County Library System – Serving Orlando and beyond with innovative classes, virtual programs, and an incredible catalog of materials.
- Seminole County Library – Multiple branches across the county with events, digital resources, and kid-friendly programs.
- Winter Park Public Library – Offering classes, storytimes, and a stunning new building full of resources for all ages.
